Benahavis is a picturesque village set in the mountains a short drive from Marbella and Estepona with stunning views. Also known as the dining room of Spain due to the number of fine restaurants the area of Benahavis includes some of the Costa del Sols most exclusive and desirable communities.
Although only 7kms from the beaches Benahavis remains unspoilt and maintains its peaceful ambience year round. The streets are narrow and winding and filled with restaurants, art galleries and shops selling local produce. Although there are a couple of new developments on the outskirts of the town, the centre itself retains its charm and appeal.
There are 7 golf courses within the area of Benahavis and it is also popular amongst the equestrian community. During the summer months the spectacular Angosturas Gorge attracts visitors walking, swimming and even canyoning along its rapidas and is a great alternative to a beach day.
There are several communities included in the Benahavis area including La Heredia which is styled in a typical Andalucian village as well as modern and contemporary developments all serene and with beautiful views yet only a stones throw from Puerto Banus or Marbella for those looking for nightlife.
Benahavis is 45 minutes from Malaga or Gibraltar airports. Although there are bus services it is recommended to have a hire car.
