Manilva/La Duquesa
To the West of Estepona is the area of Manilva, also known as the “other Costa del Sol” due to it’s peaceful and relaxed atmosphere away from the beach clubs and package holiday resorts and their associated high rise hotels.
The port at La Duquesa offers a great selection of restaurants and bars while the beach walk to San Luis de Sabinillas offers amazing local fish and chiringuitos. It’s ideal if you’re looking to escape the modern day hustle and bustle and has been used by people to rest and relax since Roman times, in fact you can still see the Roman baths and an aqueduct near to Manilva.
The area itself is made up of mainly residential urbanizations. Close to the beach and numerous golf courses it is popular for family holidays or extended breaks to escape Northern European winters. The last couple of years has seen an increase in construction of high quality developments that offer great value.
Although quieter there are still lots of amenities including supermarkets, bars, restaurants, banks, pharmacies and medical centres.
Estepona is only 10 minutes away and the area is well connected with regular bus routes and still only 1 hour from Malaga Airport due to the toll road or 20 minutes to Gibraltar airport.
